 Bran at 11th Abjuration Wizard

Bran Strongbow, 11th lvl abjuration wizard
Human, investigator background (Greyhawk)
AC 17, HPs 84
STR 8, DEX 14, CON 16, INT 18, WIS 12, CHA 8
Skills: Arcana 8, History, 8, Insight, 5, Investigation 8, Perception 5
Languages: common, elvish, draconic, giant

Attack spell (int) +10
Dagger +6, 1d4+2
Staff of Power +5, 1d6+1

Arcane recovery - short rest to recover up to 6 lvls of expended spell slots (5th or lower). Use again after long rest.
Arcane Ward - 26HPs. Whenever I take damage, ward absorbs until empty. Every abj. spell (1st or higher) cast adds twice lvl HPs back in. Can create the ward after a long rest.
Projected ward - whenever a creature I see within 30ft. takes damage, I can use my reaction to have ward absorb up to current ward HPs.
Improved abjuration - any abj. spell requiring ability check as part of casting gets +4 to roll.

Feats
Resilient (CON)
+2 INT
War Caster - advantage on CON saves to maintain concentration on spells. When hostile creature's movement provokes AoO, use reaction to cast spell at it. Spell must have casting time of 1 action and must target only that creature.

Staff of Power Spells: (20 Charges)
Cone of Cold 5 charges
Levitate 2 charges
Fireball (5th) 5 charges
Globe of invulnerability 6 charges
Hold monster 5 charges
Levitate 2 charges
Lightning bolt (5th) 5 charges
Magic Missile 1 charge
Ray of enfeeblement 1 charge
wall of force 5 charges

Pearl of Power
Use std. action to regain 1 expended spell slot up to 3rd. Can't be used again till next dawn

Bag of Holding (500lb. capacity)

Contingency - Surprised in Combat = greater invisibility

So many concentration spells
Like the idea of banishment at 6th taking out 3 demons, but you'd have to hold it for 10 rounds
Slow also can be powerful
All are nice... Can't wait for some wizardry!

I'm sure my memorized list will change after a couple combats... but I'm really good at maintaining concentration... someone has to get through my ward before I even save... then I'm +9 to the save with advantage.

Maybe change ray of frost for identify or alarm

I'm guessing your battle tactic is going to be casting something powerful that you maintain and then use fireball or firebolt until concentration expires, then repeat.

Ray of frost is a cantrip... which I already have.

Alarm is a ritual, which I don't need to memorize and I'll be casting all day to restock my ward out of combat.

I don't currently have identify, which is also a ritual.

Oh well short version. Oops I mixed up cantrips vs rituals which are closely the same for wizards. Lucky dog

Consider changing ray of frost for
Acid Splash (punish foes that double up on one of us)
Bladeward (cast before we enter a room)
Friends (you need all the help you can to sweet talk someone)

Hey Eug,
I agree Friends is a good idea, especially considering my currently career... it's in, message is out.

I like ray of frost better as it imposes a movement penalty as well as damage.

I'm never going into a room first... so blade ward is a waste. Wink Besides... I've got my arcane ward up all the time (26hps) and a contingency to go greater invis. if I'm surprised.
